Hello all Webflow enthusiasts! It has been an eventful year and I, Pablo at LAPS AB, have just plowed through the entire Webflow Conf 2025 and all the updates that have dropped during the year. Here is a personal and light-hearted report on the biggest news, what they mean for us who build websites in Sweden and how we can use them to create even better experiences for our customers.
AI takes space for real
Finally, it's here: an AI assistant that doesn't just answer questions, but actually understand your project and can make real changes. I'm both curious and a little skeptical, but mostly positive. The assistant can generate design suggestions, write small snippets of code, and help clean up the project. You can even ask it to build a complete React component or web app. Imagine being able to quickly bring up a dashboard or login module just through a prompt!
The SEO part has also received AI love. Webflow suggests alt texts, meta titles, and schema markup for you. That's great for those of us who want to be at the top of Google and at the same time optimize for AI-powered answering services without taking us forever to tag up with alt texts. As an added bonus that you can upload a llms.txtfile to guide ChatGPT and your friends to the right content. It doesn't get any easier!
A CMS that dares to dream big
Anyone who has ever sworn over limitations in Webflow CMS will rejoice. The next generation CMS is faster, has higher limits, and a completely rebuilt API. You can structure data better, edit more smoothly, and even use Webflow as a Headless CMS for other apps. For teams, it is worth giving editors different rights on different “collections”. The news also highlights the possibility of local-specific access in the long term.
Code components and multi‑context canvas
You can now build components in React that live directly on Webflow's canvas. The new component canvas works a bit like modules that you can edit off-page and see how changes affect the entire system. Ideal for those who work with design systems and want to reuse modules across multiple projects. This is something that we at LAPS plan to use in future projects to accelerate the construction of websites.
Real-time collaboration
Do you recognize the frustration when several people have to work on the same page and you have to take turns? Now that's the end of it! Med Real-time collaboration multiple people can work on the exact same page at the same time. That means less waiting time and more creativity. And thanks to comment-only‑links Customers can give feedback without even having a paid account with Webflow. A game changer!
Interactions, analysis and A/B testing
Webflow has integrated GSAP for more advanced animations and you get more control over how effects look at different breakpoints (screen sizes). In addition, there are new accessibility settings so that animations do not set it for accessibility customization.
On the analysis front comes interactieve clickmapper. Instead of a static heatmap, you can expand menus and see exactly where visitors click. It helps us make decisions about navigation and CTA placements. Webflow Analyze now also displays traffic from AI assistants as its own source, and the target feature tells you which pages and campaigns are driving conversion. Personally, I may find the implementation a bit costly but for those who don't use alternatives and want everything in Webflow it provides great value.
Forms without headaches
After many years of wish lists, Webflow has finally rebuilt its forms. Now you can set recipients per form, instead of a global setting, FINALLY. There is also a spam inbox where you can save honest messages. In addition, the settings have moved into the design environment so you don't have to jump between different views. More enhancements, such as webhooks directly in the form setup and bot protection, make Webflow feel more like a full-featured form solution. This is something we really appreciate when our customer Compliq have had to use third party solutions such as Joltform.
Infrastructure and performance
Webflow has also worked under the hood. A new partnership with Cloudflare brings faster and more secure sites. The dashboard is faster than before (2-3 times faster in multisite) and you can add new seats without leaving your canvas. The custom code limit has been raised to 50,000 characters, which suits those of us who like to tweak details.
Why all this is important for LAPS AB and our customers
At LAPS AB we build websites in Webflow. These updates mean we can work faster, collaborate better and deliver more advanced solutions to our customers. AI Assistant helps us prototype ideas in seconds, and next-generation CMS allows us to scale content without changing platforms. Real-time collaboration makes the project process more dynamic, and analytics packages give us insights right into the same tools we build in.
For our customers, this means more flexible and long-term solutions. Do you want to optimize your website for AI search? Webflow's new SEO tools make it much easier. Need advanced animations? The GSAP integration fixes that.
Webflow Conf 2025 is not just a conference but a clear signal of where the platform is headed. From no‑code to a fully-fledged design and development environment where AI is a component for us developers and end users. At LAPS AB, this means that we can continue to deliver stylish, fast and future-proof websites for our Swedish customers, and have fun along the way.
